Sentara Health Plans is member-driven, community-based organization that is built to last. A high degree of provider engagement between Sentara and other community providers allows us to align with the needs of our members and the goals of our customers and state partners. In this way, we advance health improvement though the integration of care delivery and care management with meaningful and actionable data insights.
Community Impact
As an organization, Sentara is driven to improve health every day. And while Sentara meets that mission through the healthcare services provided to our patients and the coverage provided to our health plan members, Sentara knows that truly improving health every day requires a much deeper commitment within our communities. In 2022, Sentara invested $260 million in communities it serves including, $54M in community investments and grants, $48M in expanding the supply of healthcare professionals through teaching and training, and $177M in uncompensated patient care.
